What is wrong with Manchester United? It has been 5 years since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club and they still are unable to get their management in order even with the Special One managing the team. Jose Mourinho is also growing very frustrated with the board due to the handling of transfers and with his players due to their performances on the field. After the 4-1 bashing at the hands of Liverpool during their pre-season tour, he lashed out at the management’s inability to sign the players that he wants.

Manchester United’s transactions have been really being panic buys ever since Ferguson left and it is not the quality of a world class club according to pk6. They have been unable to land their transfer targets like Gareth Bale this season, who was getting very strongly linked but after Ronaldo left Real Madrid, the rumours died away. Another one was Perisic, who has been linked to United for two years now and everyone would expect United to go all out for the player after a very impressive World Cup campaign. United have also lacked a natural right winger since the last two seasons and still don’t seem like signing any.

Manchester United right now really lack in the defensive cabinet and after selling Blind and with Darmian and probably Rojo on his way out, United look really short on their defensive prospects. Smalling is below average defender who wasn’t picked up for the World Cup and probably wont start for any of the other top six teams, looks like an assured starter which is absurd.

Phil Jones, who is a calamity and spends more time in rehab for his injury than on the field. After that United are just left with Valencia, Luke Shaw, Bailly, Lindelof and Ashley Young. Valencia is the club captain but won’t be available for the start of the campaign due to his injury. Luke Shaw is completely out of shape and Lindelof and Young are also not available due to the World Cup.

Mnchester United right now are in the market for Alderweild and Maguire and will be hoping to land at least one of them but we will have to just wait and watch.
