One of the most familiar types of medication that you can encounter nowadays is steroids. This is a family of medication that comes in all forms, each of which having specific effects on the body. Loosely, it can be categorized into two types, namely, corticosteroids for respiratory problems, and anabolic steroids for those who build muscles. One of the most popular types of steroids in the case of the latter, albeit being illegal is the winstrol pillole, among others. Here is a quick look at the short-term, long-term, and side-effects of steroids.

Short-Term

Anabolic steroids are used by some athletes who wish to have better muscle growth, and consequentially, better performance in the sport that they do. For this particular purpose, however, people may have to suffer certain effects, which includes acne, mood swings, agitation, fatigue, lack of appetite, sleeping problems, and in some instances, impotence and a lower sperm count.

Long-Term

A lot of steroids, especially the anabolic type are not supposed to be taken in the long run. This is because abuse of these steroids could cause changes in the brain, specifically in terms of its production of chemicals like neurotransmitters, which could eventually cause behavioural and mood changes. Other long-term effects in the body for steroids include heart attack, delusions, anger and aggression, and in the most dire situations, liver tumors, kidney failure, and stroke.

Side Effects

As much as we can reap some good effects on our body through the taking of steroids, there may be some consequences to it that we can experience alongside the changes taking place in our body. This includes problems with fertility due to some steroids converting into estrogen, testicle shrinking, growth of breast tissue, heart problems, and higher blood pressure. Drastic mood swings have also been reported by other takers.
